ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of lumbar spine warming needle moxibustion of Jiaji and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) fumigation combined with conventional western medicine therapy on patients with acute inflammatory period of lumbar disc herniation (LDH).Methods:Randomized controlled trial. A total of 140 patients with acute inflammation of LDH in our hospital from December 2019 to December 2021 were selected as observational objects, and the patients meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into 2 groups with 70 patients in each group by random number table method. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine therapy, and the observational group was treated with warming needle moxibustion of Jiaji combined with TCM fumigation on the basis of control group treatment. Both groups received continuous treatment for 1 month. TCM syndrome scores were performed before and after treatment, the degree of lumbar pain was assessed by VAS, the degree of lumbar dysfunction was assessed by Japanese Orthopaedic Association Evaluation Treatment (JOA score), and serum CRP, IL-6 and TNF-α levels were measured by ELISA.Results:The total effective rate was 95.71% (67/70) in the observation group and 82.86% (58/70) in the control group, and there was significant difference between the two groups ( χ2=6.05, P=0.014). After treatment, TCM syndrome score [(4.45±1.09) vs. (10.67±2.82), t=16.85], VAS score [(1.54±0.43) vs. (3.28±1.04), t=12.94] lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01), subjective feeling [(7.54±2.87) vs. (6.24±1.76), t=5.72], physical signs [(6.76±2.00) vs. (4.34±1.67), t=7.77], limited daily activities [(9.56±3.27) vs. (7.89±2.97), t=3.16], bladder function score [(2.88±0.84) vs. (2.63±0.64), t=2.89] and the total score [(25.04±7.44) vs. (20.35±6.87), t=4.63] were higher than those in the control group ( P<0.01). After treatment, serum IL-6 [(18.12±4.23) μg/L vs. (26.46±4.58) μg/L, t=11.19], CRP [(18.87±6.07) mg/L vs. (25.89±5.72) mg/L, t=7.04] and TNF-α levels [(24.42±5.37) ng/L vs. (29.45±5.44) ng/L, t=5.51] were lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01). Conclusion:The warming needle moxibustion of Jiaji and TCM fumigation combined with conventional western medicine therapy can improve the lumbar pain of LDH patients in acute inflammatory stage, reduce the level of inflammatory factors, improve clinical efficacy.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of intra-articular injection of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with Tongbi Powder fumigation in the treatment of early knee osteoarthritis (KOA).Methods:Randomized controlled trial. Totally 160 patients with KOA in Tai'an Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were enrolled between March 2021 and March 2022. According to random number table method, they were divided into two groups, with 80 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment, while observation group was given intra-articular injection of autologous PRP combined with Tongbi Powder fumigation. All were treated for 3 weeks. The knee function was evaluated by Western Ontario and McMaster University (WOMAC) osteoarthritis index. The activities of daily living were evaluated by Lysholm knee scale (LKS). The pain degree was evaluated by VAS. The levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) were detected by ELISA. The adverse reactions during treatment were observed and recorded. The clinical efficacy was evaluated.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.0% (76/80), and that of the control group was 77.5% (62/80), with statistical significance ( χ2=10.33, P<0.01). At 1, 3 and 6 months after treatment, the WOMAC score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group ( F=15.63, P<0.01), the LKS score was higher than that of the control group ( F=55.23, P<0.01), and the VAS score was lower than that of the control group ( F=11.93, P<0.01). After treatment, the observation group IL-1β [(51.75±2.74)μg/L vs. (63.38±3.31) μg/L, t=24.21], TNF- α [(10.58±1.25) μg/L vs. (11.62±1.84) μg/L, t=4.18] were lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01). The incidence of adverse reactions was 10.0% (8/80) in the observation group and 7.5% (6/80) in the control group, without statistical significance ( χ2=0.31, P=0.576). Conclusion:Intra-articular injection of autologous PRP combined with Tongbi San fumigation can effectively improve knee function and activities of living ability, relieve pain symptoms, reduce inflammatory response and improve clinical curative effect in early KOA.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of Qixian Tongluo Prescription fumigation on nerve function and rehabilitation effect in patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction of qi-deficiency blood stasis syndrome.Methods:Randomized controlled trial. Sixty-eight patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction of qi-deficiency blood stasis syndrome in the hospital were enrolled between October 2020 and December 2021. According to random odd-even numbering method, participants were divided into the control group (routine western medicine) and the observation group (Qixian Tongluo Prescription fumigation on basis of control group), 34 in each group. All were continuously treated for 8 weeks. TCM syndromes were scored before and after treatment. The severity of neurological impairment was evaluated by National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). The severity of limb movement disorder was evaluated by Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA). The levels of central nervous specific protein (S-100β), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), endothelin (ET), nitric oxide (NO), C-reactive protein (CRP) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were detected by ELISA. The clinical response rate was assessed.Results:There were significant differences in total response rate between the observation group and the control group [94.12% (32/34) vs. 76.47% (26/34); χ2=4.22, P=0.040]. After treatment, scores of hemiplegia, shortness of breath, palpitation and limbs swelling in observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t=3.44, 2.37, 2.72, 3.89, P<0.05 or P<0.01), NIHSS score was significantly lower than that of the control group ( t=6.56, P<0.01), and FMA scores of upper and lower limbs were significantly higher than those in the control group ( t=2.17, 2.78, P<0.05). After treatment, levels of serum S-100β [(0.69±0.27) μg/L vs. (0.85±0.36) μg/L, t=2.07], NSE [(8.36±3.69) μg/L vs. (11.34±4.93) μg/L, t=2.82] and ET [(53.16±12.12) ng/L vs. (61.25±11.31) ng/L, t=2.85] in observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05 or P<0.01), while NO [(82.26±14.53) μmol/L vs. (70.16±12.27) μmol/L, t=3.71] was significantly higher than that of the observation group ( P<0.01). The level of serum CRP in observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( t=2.74, P<0.01), and SOD activity was significantly higher than that of the control group ( t=2.49, P<0.05). Conclusion:Qixian Tongluo Prescription fumigation can promote the recovery of nerve function and vascular endothelial function in patients with hemiplegia after cerebral infarction, improve limb disorders and clinical effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the clinical curative effect of foot-ankle balance massage combined with herbal fumigation on acute ankle sprain.Methods:According to random number table method, 62 patients with acute ankle sprain meeting the inclusion criteria in the hospital were divided into control group and observation group between January 2018 and January 2021, 31 in each group. The control group was treated with foot-ankle balance massage, while the observation group added herbal fumigation treatment on the basis of the control group treatment. Both were treated for 7 days. The pain degree was evaluated by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The pain sites of ankle joint were evaluated by Kofoed ankle scale. The recovery of ankle and foot function was evaluated by American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS). The levels of plasma substance P, neuropeptide, nerve growth factor (NGF), IL-1β, IL-6 and hs-CRP were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The clinical curative effect was assessed.Results:The differences in total response rate between observation group and control group were statistically significant [96.8% (30/31) vs. 77.4% (24/31)] ( χ 2=5.17, P=0.023). At 1st day, 3rd day and 7th day after treatment, VAS scores in observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t=4.86, 5.19, 3.86, P<0.01), Kofoed scores were significantly higher than those in the control group ( t=2.03, 2.58, 2.46, P<0.05), and AOFAS pain scores were significantly higher than those in the control group ( t=2.61, 2.47, 4.90, P<0.05). After treatment, levels of substance P [(2.94±0.91) mg/L vs. (3.69±0.94) mg/L, t=3.19], neuropeptide [(141.06±16.31) ng/L vs. (165.22±17.63) ng/L, t=3.16] and NGF [(43.65±10.15) ng/L vs. (52.26±10.20) ng/L, t=3.33] in observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01), and levels of IL-1β, IL-6 and hs-CRP were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t=2.60, 2.64, 2.42, P<0.05). Conclusion:The foot-ankle balance massage combined with herbal fumigation can quickly relieve pain, increase levels of pain substances, reduce levels of inflammatory cytokines and improve curative effect in patients with acute ankle sprains.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effects of modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) fumigation on joint function and inflammatory mediators in synovial fluid of patients with knee osteoarthritis.Methods:A total of 203 patients with knee osteoarthritis who met the inclusion criteria between March 2020 and March 2021 in the hospital were divided into observation group (102 cases) and control group (101 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group was given oral administration of celecoxib capsules + TCM fumigation, and the observation group was given modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 3 months. TCM symptoms were scored before and after treatment, and Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores (JOA) was used to evaluate the knee function. Immunoturbidimetry was adopted to detect serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and ELISA was used for the detection of levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in synovial fluid, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated.Results:The total effective rate was 90.2% (92/102) in observation group and was 79.2% (80/101) in control group ( χ2=4.74, P=0.030). The JOA scores at 1 month and 3 months after treatment in observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group ( t=3.17, 7.74, all Ps<0.01). The scores of cold and painful knee joint, soreness and weakness of waist and knees, joint swelling and inhibited bending and stretching were significantly in the observation group after treatment lower than those in the control group ( t=7.61, 10.81, 6.62, 8.77, all Ps<0.001). The levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in synovial fluid and level of serum hs-CRP were significantly in the observation group after treatment lower than those in the control group ( t=7.97, 9.52, 9.56, all Ps<0.001). During treatment, the incidence rate of adverse reactions was 32.7% (33/101) in control group and that of observation group was 19.6% (20/102) ( χ2=4.49, P=0.034). Conclusion:Modified Duhuo Jisheng Decoction combined with TCM fumigation can improve the clinical symptoms and knee function, relieve the inflammatory response and enhance the clinical efficacy of patients with knee osteoarthritis.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of music relaxation training combined with Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction oral administration and foot bath on fatigue status and quality of life in patients with cancer related fatigue.Methods:A total of 90 patients with cancer related fatigue in our hospital from January 2019 to October 2020 were selected. The patients were divided into 2 groups by random number table method, with 45 in each group. Both groups were given health and diet education. The control group was given music relaxation training, and the observation group took Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction oral administration and foot bathing on the basis of the control group. Both groups have a course of treatment of 4 weeks, a total of 3 courses. The TCM syndrome scores were observed before and after treatment, and the Piper Fatigue Score (PFS) was used to evaluate fatigue status, and the Karnofsky functional state score was used to evaluate the quality of life of patients, evaluation of clinical efficacy.Results:After treatment, 43 patients in the observation group and 42 patients in the control group were analyzed. The total effective rate of the observation group was 83.72% (36/43), which was significantly higher than 64.29% (27/42) of the control group ( χ2=4.18, P=0.041). After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( t=2.48, P=0.015). After treatment, the Karnofsky functional state score in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group ( t=2.83, P=0.006). After treatment, the emotion score (4.35±1.02 vs. 5.03±1.01, t=3.09), feeling score (4.31±1.06 vs. 5.00±1.02, t=3.06) and total score (4.23±1.07 vs. 4.87±1.10, t=2.72) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01). Conclusion:Music relaxation training combined with Huangqi Jianzhong Decoction oral administration and foot bathing can alleviate the fatigue state of CRF patients and improve the quality of life.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To compare the efficacy of different treatment protocols in treating transient synovitis of the hip (TSH) in children and to optimize the clinical treatment strategy for this condition. Methods: Ninety kids with TSH were divided into a control group, a chiropractic group and a chiropractic plus foot bath group using the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional traction; the chiropractic group was given chiropractic treatment based on the control group; the chiropractic plus foot bath group was given Chinese medicine foot bath based on the chiropractic group. Traction and foot bath were conducted once daily while chiropractic was done once every other day, all with 14 d as a treatment course for a total of two courses. Changes in the visual analog scale (VAS) score and range of motion (ROM) of the hip joint in the three groups were observed, and the efficacy was compared. Results: The total effective rate was 93.3% in the chiropractic plus foot bath group, versus 76.7% in the chiropractic group and 66.7% in the control group, and the total effective rate was notably higher in the chiropractic plus foot bath group than in the other two groups (both P<0.05). Respectively after the first and second treatment course, the VAS score decreased significantly in each of the three groups compared with that before treatment (all P<0.01), and the ROM of the hip joint in flexion increased significantly (all P<0.01). After two treatment courses, the VAS score was lower in the chiropractic plus foot bath group than in the other two groups (both P<0.05), and its ROM of the hip joint in flexion was larger than that in the other two groups (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Based on traction, chiropractic plus Chinese medicine foot bath can effectively reduce pain and improve motor function of the hip joint in treating TSH.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To evaluate the efficacy of fumigation with Shujin-Jieluan Decoction combined with Pingheng-Shujin Manipulation (manipulation of balance and muscle tendon relaxing) in the treatment of chirospasm after stroke.@*Methods@#A total of 104 patients with chirospasm after stroke who metthe inclusion criteria from July 2016 to June 2018 were selectedand divided into tow groups with the digital table methodwith 52 cases in each group. The control group was given routine rehabilitation training while the observation group was given fumigation with Shujin-Jieluan decoction combined with Pingheng-Shujin manipulation based oncontrol group, and the two groups both were treated for 8 weeks. The Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) was used for chirospasm classification, and Key Point tabletop electromyography device was used to record the frequency, average amplitude and the shortest latency of F wave of median nerve. Fugl-Meyer motor function rating scale was used to evaluate hand motor function, and modified Barthel Index (BI) was used to evaluate life functionand clinical efficacy.@*Results@#The effective rate was 88.5% (46/52) in observation group and was 65.4% (34/52) in control group (χ2=7.800, P=0.005). After treatment, the frequency (15.11 ± 2.06 vs. 16.72 ± 1.95, t=4.093), average amplitude (0.52 ± 0.04 mV vs. 0.59 ± 0.05 mV, t=7.883) and the shortest latency (24.37 ± 2.85 ms vs. 25.88 ± 2.43 ms, t=2.907) of F wave in observation group were significantly lower than the control group (P<0.01). Fugl-Meyer hand function score (6.51 ± 1.45 vs. 5.09 ± 1.22, t=5.404) and BI index score (60.87 ± 5.16 vs. 56.54 ± 4.25, t=4.671) were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01). The distribution of MAS classification in observation group was significantly lower than that of control group (Z=8.410, P=0.004).@*Conclusions@#Fumigation with Shujin-Jieluan Decoction combined with Pingheng-Shujin Manipulation can improve the neuromuscular transmission of patients with chirospasm after stroke, and facilitate the recovery of hand function and viability.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical effect and prognosis of composite skin flap transplantation combined with traditional Chinese medicine for the skin repair and bone defects of extremities.Methods A total of 80 patients with extremities' bone defect were selected in our hospital between March 2016 and March 2015.The patients were randomly divided into two groups according to the orders of the alternaive medical treatment.The observation group (n=40) was treated with compound skin flap transplantation combined with Chinese traditional medicine steaming and washing.The control group (n=40) was treated with a single compound flap transplantation.The skin flaps,transplant survival rate,flap swelling,treatment effect and complications were observed.Results The survival rate of the observation group was 95% (38/40),and the survival rate of the control group was 75% (30/40).The survival rate between two groups was statitically significant difference (x2=6.274,P<0.05).The proportion of degree Ⅰ of the skin flap in the observation group significantly higher than that in the control group (x2=8.584,P=0.003),while the proportion of degree Ⅳ of the skin flap in the observation group significantly lower than that in the control group (x2=4.210,P=0.040).The total effective rate in the observation group was 97.5% (39/40),the control group was 77.5% (31/40),and the difference between two group was significant (x2=7.314,P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 2.5% (1/40).The incidence of complications in the control group was 17.5% (7/40).The incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (x2=5.000,P<0.05).Conclusions The combination of skin flap transplantation and Chinese medicine could repair bone defect of the extremities,lower swelling degree of the skin flap after transplantation and improve curative effect,and the incidence of complications after treatment is low and the clinical value is high.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with manipulation massage on children with muscular torticollis. Methods Sixty-two children with torticollis were enrolled in our hospital from January 2015 to November 2016. They were randomly divided into control group (n=31) and observation group (n=31). The control group was treated with different methods of massage, and the observation group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine based on the control group. The treatment last for 3 months. The clinical effect, cervical rotation score, muscle contracture score, head tilt score, head malformations were observed. The Doppler ultrasound was used for the mass thickness and elastic coefficient of sternocleidomastoid. Results After 3 months treatment, the total effective rate was 93.5% (29/31) in the observation group, 77.4% (24/31) in the control group, and the difference between two groups were statistically significant (χ2=6.902, P=0.039). The cervical rotation score (2.8 ± 0.2 vs. 1.7 ± 0.3, Z=7.698), the muscle contracture score (2.7 ± 0.4 vs. 1.6 ± 0.4, Z=6.949), the head tilt score (2.8 ± 0.2 vs. 1.6 ± 0.4, Z=8.021), the head malformations score (2.4 ± 0.5 vs. 2.0 ± 0.3, Z=5.949) in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The mass thickness (6.23 ± 1.18 mm vs. 9.02 ± 1.19 mm, Z=10.075) in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.01). The time of cure (30.4 ± 14.0 d vs. 59.2 ± 12.2 d, Z=10.218) and the time of improvement (34.6 ± 11.3 d vs. 55.2 ± 15.5 d, Z=11.249) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The Chinese medicine fumigation combined with manipulation could treat the children with muscular torticollis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with conventional therapy for the diabetic foot. Methods A total of 90 patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated in the hospital from March 2015 to August 2017 were enrolled in this study. On the basis of conventional treatment, the treatment group received the traditional Chinese medicine fumigation, while the control group received warm water fumigation. The total limb popliteal artery, femoral artery, posterior tibial artery and dorsalis pedis artery and a score of symptoms and signs were compared between two groups after 4 weeks. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was 73.3% (33/45), while the control group was 53.3% (24/45), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=3.876, P=0.049). After treatment, total limb femoral artery(58.38 ± 12.53 cm/s vs.51.94 ± 11.62 cm/s,t=2.528),popliteal artery(43.87 ± 9.46 cm/s vs.39.87 ± 8.28 cm/s,t=2.134),posterior tibial artery(35.72 ± 8.29 cm/s vs.30.89 ± 8.51 cm/s,t=2.725),dorsalis pedis artery (26.82 ± 8.10 cm/s vs.22.87 ± 7.39 cm/s,t=2.413)of the treatment group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The main symptom score(2.0 ± 1.5 vs.4.1 ± 2.1,t=5.419),sub syndrome score(3.1 ± 1.8 vs.5.1 ± 2.3,t=4.692),tongue and pulse condition score(1.8 ± 0.8 vs.2.4 ± 0.6,t=4.277)of the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.01). Conclusions The traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with conventional therapy could improve the lower extremity blood flow status in diabetic foot patients and clinical symptoms.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of tuina plus foot bath with Chinese medicine for patients with diabetic foot (DF) in early stage.Methods:A total of 70 patients with early-stage DF were randomly allocated by the random number table into two groups,with 35 cases in each group.Patients in the control group received conventional medication,while patients in the observation group received tuina plus foot bath with Chinese medicine on the basis of conventional medication.The clinical efficacy was compared after 2 courses of treatment.Results:After treatment,intra-group comparisons of ankle-brachial index (ABI) showed statistical significance in both groups (both P<0.05).The curative rate was 83.3% in the observation group,with the total effective rate of 96.7%,versus 29.4% and 76.5% in the control group,respectively,and the between-group comparisons showed statistical significance (both P<0.05),indicating a better effect in the observation group.Conclusion:Tuina plus foot bath with Chinese medicine has a good therapeutic effect for DF patients in early stage.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with rehabilitation exercise on the recovery of elbow joint function after triad disease of elbow joint. Methods Sixty patients with terrible triad disease of elbow were divided into treatment group and control group according to the random number table. The treatment group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with rehabilitation exercise. The control group was treated with rehabilitation exercise. The clinical effect rates, elbow activity and De Boer YA elbow function score were observed at 4 weeks and 8 weeks after treatmentt. Results The total effect rate was 83.3% (25/30) in the treatment group and 60.0% (18/30) in the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (χ2=4.021, P=0.044).After treatment,the elbow flexion(126.98 ± 10.46°vs.120.86 ± 10.37°,t=2.275),the hyperextension (8.26 ± 1.23° vs. 6.79 ± 1.29°, t=4.517), pronation (80.46 ± 8.60° vs. 73.42 ± 8.20°, t=2.404), and supination (78.53 ± 8.26° vs. 73.42 ± 8.20°, t=2.404) in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group.. The De Boer YA elbow function score pain (27.13 ± 2.56 vs. 24.86 ± 2.42, t=3.529), Daily activities (32.26 ± 4.24 vs. 29.48 ± 4.36, t=2.503), movement (31.46 ± 4.66 vs. 28.74 ± 4.59, t=0.026), total score(90.42 ± 8.76 vs.83.82 ± 8.42,t=2.975)in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (Ps<0.05). Conclusions Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with rehabilitation exercise can promote the recovery of elbow joint function in triad of elbow joint.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of Zhang's acupoint pressure therapy plus electroacupuncture (EA) in treating post-traumatic knee osteoarthritis.Methods:A total of 98 eligible patients with post-traumatic knee osteoarthritis were divided into group A and B by the random number table, 49 cases in each group. Group A was intervened by Zhang's acupoint pressure therapy plus EA; group B was given medicinal fumigation. The clinical efficacies of the two groups were compared.Results:The markedly effective rate of group A was significantly higher than that of group B.Conclusion:Zhang's acupoint pressure therapy plus EA can produce a satisfactory clinical efficacy in treating post-traumatic knee osteoarthritis, and is worth promotion.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of the homemade traditional Chinese medicine bathing prescription combined with Thymalfasin and Isotretinoin treatment for Verruca Plantaris.Methods A total of 120 patients with Verruca Plantaris were randomly divided into 3 groups according to the random number table method (each group 40). The drug therapy group was given Thymalfasin and Isotretinoin to treatment; and the Chinese medicine washing group was given traditional Chinese medicine wash-out on the basis of drug therapy; and the physical therapy group was given liquid nitrogen freezing treatment on the basis of drug therapy. All the groups were treated 12 weeks and follow-up 3 months. Four weeks were a course, and a total of 3 courses. After the treatment, the symptom grading scores (number of skin lesions, the size of skin lesions, the degree of pain and the quality of life) was compared, and the clinical effect rate was evaluated and the recurrence rate was observed.Results Twelve weeks after treatment, Chinese medicine washing group total effective rate was 97.5% (39/40), drug treatment group 87.5% (35/40), and physical treatment group 90.0% (36/40). The Chinese medicine washing group total effective rate was superior to the drug therapy and physicaltherapy groups (Z values were -3.463,-3.122,P values were 0.001, 0.002). after treatment, the number of lesions scores (2.0 ± 1.1 vs. 2.8 ± 1.5, 2.7 ± 1.6,F=3.787), the size of the lesion scores (2.3 ± 1.7 vs. 3.2 ± 1.3, 3.1 ± 1.3, F=4.657), pain degree and the quality of life scores (0.4 ± 0.5 vs. 1.0 ± 1.2, 1.0 ± 1.0,F=5.353) in the Chinese medicine washing group were significantly higher than those in the drug therapy and physical therapy groups (P<0.01). After follow-up period, the recurrence rate of Chinese medicine washing group was 10.3% (4/39), the drug treatment group 25.7% (9/35), the physical therapy group 41.7% (15/36). The difference among 3 groups was statistically significant (Z=-3.188,P<0.01).Conclusions The traditional Chinese medicine combined with Thymalfasin and Isotretinoin could reduce the number of skin lesions, narrow the range of skin lesions and reduce the degree of pain, and improve the quality of life.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effect of Chinese herbal fumigation combined with CPM promote the function recovery after Postoperative Patellar Fracture. Methods Eighty patients with patellar fracture were randomly divided into treatment group (40 cases) and control group (40 cases). The control group was treated with CPM. The treatment group was treated with Chinese Herbal Fumigation and CPM. After 8th weeks, the clinical curative effect, knee range of motion and KSS knee score were observed and compared. Results The effect rate of the treatment group was 87.5% (35/40), and the control group was 65.0% (26/40). The difference was statistically significant (χ2=5.591, P<0.01). After treatment, the range of motion of knee joint (138.38°± 7.82°vs. 0.29°± 7.83°, t=10.338), KSS knee function score (88.38 ± 9.52 vs. 3.46 ± 9.36, t=2.330) of the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.01 or P<0.05). Conclusions The Chinese medicine fumigation combined with CPM functional exercise could accelerate the recovery of knee function and reduce the complications of fracture after patellar fracture.

It has been found that Chinese herbal bathing worked mainly through improving bone circulation, inhibiting inflammation and promoting the progress of chondrocytes restore.In addition, the autophagy was related to the degeneration and apoptosis of chondrocytes. This paper help to provide ideas and direction for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with Chinese herb bathing therapy.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and herbal plaster for the patients with anal abscess. Methods A total of 140 patients with anal abscess were randomly divided into 2 groups, 70 in each group. The control group were treated with different operation methods according to the patient's health condition. the Potassium Permanganate solution (1:5 000) bath was used after surgery in the conventional anti anti-infection treatment; and the observation group were treated with herbal fumigation and plaster on the basis of the control group. The wound was treated in the both groups in the following 3 months after operation. The wound swelling disappearance, carrion shedding and healing time, pain relief, medical records of infection and recurrence were measured after the treatment and follow-up period. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 100% (70/70), and the control group was 91.4% (64/70). The difference between the 2 groups was statistically significant (χ2=4.322,P=0.037). After 3, 7 days, the pain relief in the observation group was better than that in the control group (Z=9.742, 16.860,P=0.008, 0.001). After treatment, the observation group swelling (4.9 ± 0.7 dvs. 6.1 ± 0.7 d,t=10.142), carrion shedding time (3.8 ± 0.5 dvs. 4.2 ± 0.4 d,t=5.227), the wound healing time (22.1 ± 4.0 dvs. 26.9 ± 4.0 d,t=7.099) were lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). During follow-up, 4 cases (5.7%) with secondary infection and 2 cases (2.9%) with recurrence were in the observation group, but 20 cases (28.6%) and 6 cases (8.6%) in the control group.There were significantly difference of the secondary infection and recurrence between two groups (χ2= 6.092,8.934,P= 0.034, 0.001). 2 groups of secondary infection, the differences were statistically significant. Conclusions The combination of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and herbal plaster could improve the wound healing time, reduce the secondary infection and recurrence rates of patients with anal abscess.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical application of acupoint sticking combined traditional Chinese medicine foot bath for the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Methods According to the random table method, 91 CFS patients were divided into control group (n=45) and the research group (n=46). The patients in the control group were treated with western medicine and acupoint application, while the patients in the research group were treated with Chinese medicine foot bath on the basis of control group. Two groups of patients were treated for 30 consecutive days. The clinical total effective rate of two groups of patients after treatment was assessed. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale (PSQI), BELL's chronic fatigue syndrome integral table and fatigue rating scale (FS-14) were determined respectively before and after treatment, at the same time, the levels of serum interleukin IL-1β, IL-6, IL-2 and interferon IFN-λ were detected respectively before and after treatment. In addition, the adverse reactionincidence and recurrence rate of two groups of patients were observed Results The total effective rate of research group was 91.3% (42/46), whilethe total effective rate of control group was 71.1% (32/45). The difference between two groups was statistically significant(χ 2=6.106,P=0.014).After treatment,the PSQI(3.65 ±0.71 vs.4.77 ±0.62,t=-8.008),FS-14(6.16 ±1.52 vs.8.03 ± 1.43,t=-6.042),IL-1β(3.28 ± 0.63 pg/ml vs.(6.86 ± 1.14)pg/ml,t=-18.595)] and IL-6 (20.03 ± 5.79 pg/ml vs. 24.85 ± 6.88 pg/ml, t=-3.619) of research group were significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05), while the BELL's (66.71 ± 12.79 vs.50.62 ± 10.22,t=-6.621), IL-2 (32.96 ± 6.57 pg/ml vs.26.78 ± 6.01 pg/ml, t=4.679)and IFN-λ(36.27 ± 6.71 pg/ml vs.25.63 ± 5.89 pg/mL,t=8.032)of research group were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05). No serious adverse reactions occurred during the treatment of both groups. The recurrence rate of control group was 25.0% (8/32), which was significantly higher than the research group of 7.1% (3/42) (χ2=4.576, P=0.032). Conclusions The clinical curative effect of acupoint sticking combined Chinese medicine foot bath on the treatment for CFS is significantly, which can significantly improve the patient's quality of sleep and fatigue index, at the same time improve the serum level of inflammatory factors.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus Chinese medicinal fumigation in treating chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (CPID).Method Totally 120 CPID patients were randomized into group A, group B and group C, 40 cases in each group. Group A was intervened by acupuncture plus Chinese medicinal fumigation, group B was by dry acupuncture treatment, while group C was by Chinese medicinal fumigation alone. After 3 treatment courses, the clinical efficacies were observed, and the relapse rates among the cured cases in 8 months after the whole treatment were compared among the 3 groups.Result The total effective rate and recovery rate were respectively 95.0% and 70.0% in group A, versus 82.5% and 45.0% in group B, and 57.5% and 32.5% in group C, and the total effective rate and recovery rate in group A were significantly different from that in group B and group C (P<0.05). The treatment duration for the recovered cases in group A was significantly different from that in group B and C (P<0.05). The relapse rate in the recovered cases in the 8-month follow-up was 10.7% in group A, versus 44.4% in group B and 53.8% in group C, and the relapse rate in group A was markedly lower than that in group B and C (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture plus Chinese medicinal fumigation is an effective method in treating CPID, and its advantages include content efficacy, short treatment duration, and low relapse rate, etc.
